To set up your email account in Mozilla Thunderbird, proceed as follows:
Open “File” > “New” > “Existing Email Account“
Important entries in the following form:
– Email address: Your complete email address
– Password: Your password, which you can find in your account information from nextron. (If you are missing the password, contact our support)
Click on “Next“
Thunderbird searches for suitable settings for this email account, this takes a moment.
Select the desired account type (IMAP or POP3) and click on “Manual configuration“.
Account types:
- IMAP: Choose this account type if you use your email account on multiple devices, possibly also on smartphones.
- POP3: Choose this account type if you use your email account only on one device.
Attention: This guide is for configuring a POP3 account. For IMAP, use the IMAP ports listed on the “Server Information” page.
Important: The complete email address must be entered as the username for both incoming and outgoing servers!
For the server address, you must enter “mail.nextron.ch” as the server.
For additional security, we recommend selecting “SSL/TLS” for “SSL“. For authentication, please select “Password, normal“.
Click on “Re-test” and then “Done“.
